With a Masters in International Security and Politics, Anais brings over six years of valuable experience from the charity sector to the Refugee Employment Network.
Most recently, Anais managed the resettlement programme at Caritas Salford where she successfully brought 17 refugee families (77 individuals, over half of whom are children) safely to the UK through the Community Sponsorship scheme. Her leadership extended to coordinating 150 volunteers, whom she supported in assisting these families from their initial arrival through to establishing themselves in the UK and securing employment.
Anais's collaborative approach involved fostering close relationships with partners to identify employment opportunities and mentoring for self-employed refugees. Beyond managing this project, she chaired national meetings on resettlement to enhance networking opportunities and share best practices around resettlement and integration.
At Mustard Tree, a Manchester-based charity focused on poverty alleviation, Anais led a project that provided refugees with access to employment training. Her work included delivering group sessions and offering one-to-one support, helping individuals navigate the UK asylum and immigration system and job market.
Her background also includes research experience with organisations such as the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) and the Council of Europe. With experience spanning France, Portugal, and the UK, Anais has a strong foundation in research, project management, and partnership building, as well as a deep understanding of refugee resettlement and integration. Her personal experiences in Lebanon and Syria provide a unique perspective to our work with both refugees and employers.
“After several years of working in the refugee sector and seeing the experiences of those around me, I learned that while safety is essential, it's access to meaningful opportunities for growth that allows people who are forcibly displaced to truly thrive. For me, the most effective way to achieve systemic change is by supporting people into meaningful and fulfilling employment, empowering them to shape the positive changes they want for themselves and their loved ones.”
We are delighted to welcome Anais to our team. Her experience, leadership, and collaborative approach will strengthen our network, build deeper connections, and support our mission for the advancement of refugee employment outcomes across the UK.
