Job Description
RESPONSIBLE TO: Carvery Manager, Banqueting Manager, General Manager, Managing Directors
Main functions of Position
To serve food and beverages to customers in a friendly and efficient manner. To maintain the cleanliness and presentation of the Post House Carvery and ensure the comfort of each guest in accordance with company policy
Skills/Criteria
- Desire to deliver a high standard of customer service with a friendly and positive attitude in accordance with company policy
- Strong Communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
- The ability to multitask coupled with excellent organisational skills
- Fully flexible with regards to shift work, including evenings and weekends
- Previous waiting experience is preferable but not essential as full training will be given
Duties & Responsibilities:
- To consistently ensure guests receive a warm welcome to the Post House Carvery and are provided with a high standard of customer service in compliance with hotel policy
- Have full knowledge of our food and drinks menu to enable you to prepare and serve dishes / beverages in an efficient and correct manner. Be familiar with new allergen legislation and ensure special requests are carried out efficiently
- To be fully aware of all planned events and prepare the department accordingly This includes completing the daily check lists as provided by the line manager
- Ensure all tables are allocated in accordance with reservation requests
- Ability to use computerised till system and pass orders to kitchen in an efficient manner. Ensure bills are processed accurately and in compliance with hotel’s cash handling policies
- To have the ability to multi-task coupled with excellent organisational skills
- To maintain a high level of cleanliness, ensuring that all dining areas, storage areas and hotel equipment are left impeccably clean.
- To ensure care is taken when operating hotel equipment
- To work within the team and communicate effectively with other team members and departments
- Work within hotel Fire, Health & Safety guidelines to ensure the safety of staff and guests at all times
- Attend training events as and when required to enhance your development
- Have an enthusiastic approach to work and take great pride in your appearance and personal hygiene.
- To maintain excellent time keeping and ensure prompt arrival for shift commencement and be fully flexible for all shifts
- To carry out any other duties as instructed by the Supervisor / Duty Manager
